New Chris Chambers CD: Never Say What You Mean

With his latest disc, Never Say What You Mean, local guitar slinger/vocalist Chris Chambers has created a stupendous mix of soul, blues and rock.

The new collection also has a modern sound while still maintaining its roots. Chris can really rock out (Distraction, All Undone) or take it nice and slow when needed (Remember, Can't Understand).

The CD is available at his live shows and can also be purchased as a download on iTunes and VIP Rock Shop.

Ray Farrugia (Junkhouse) Plays on New Fearing & White CD

When Canadian folk star Stephen Fearing (Blackie and Rodeo Kings) teamed up with Belfast musician Andy White for a new CD project, Fearing & White, they brought in Hamilton drummer, Ray Farrugia (Junkhouse, Lee Harvey Osmond) to handle the percussion. Ray's great talent on the skins can be heard throughout the album.

The disc is a great addition to Fearing's great body of work. Andy White also adds his brilliant guitar work and outstanding voice. Both musicians harmonize well and complement each other.

Songs range from catchy folk rock tunes (You Can't Count on Anyone Anymore, Heaven for a Lonely Man), slower pieces (Faithful Heart) and music with an Irish feel (What We Know Now, Dream Maker).

The CD is available at Maple Music and iTunes. There's a rocking iTunes exclusive bonus track "How Long" that is also available as a free download if you join their mailing list.

Below are a few related videos.

New Yitka CD: Diplomatic Dream

Diplomatic Dream, the latest CD by local singer/songwriter Yitka, is definitely well-named. A global theme is certainly prevalent throughout the disc.

Yitka's accent (she immigrated from the Czech Republic) adds an international flavour to all the songs. On top of that, she includes Latin sounds (To Mexico, Maria), some reggae (the title track), and much more. This is all while adding a wonderful pop/rock/folk feel. To finish things off, there's also a cover of Marianne Faithfull's Broken English

Many talented musicians worked with Yitka to create this amazing disc: Peter Sisk, Ray Poirier, Sandi Stirling, Joe Mavety, Steve Negus, and Danny Z (also producer and engineer).

The CD is available at her live shows and can be ordered though CDbaby, as either a CD or download. You can also get it on iTunes.

See below for live performances of songs from the album.
